Toothbrush Tracking Chart

Kids seem to forget to do the smallest things. Brushing teeth should NOT be one. Last night as the insomnia set in, I was just surfing the internet for any and everything. Well it paid off!! LOL. I found these toothbrush tracking charts for kids on Oral-B's website. There is one of Monster's Inc. for the boys and one of Disney's Ariel for the girls. All you do is print them off by going here. I don't know why they don't include the month labels. I couldn't find them, but they shouldn't be that hard to make. You can always go to Avery.com to find templates to print the months in. Disney Princess Paper Dolls

I remember being a young girl playing with my paper dolls. Most of them were of American Girl Addy Walker. Children are missing out on great toys nowadays! LOL. I recently came across these dolls and had to share. My daughter, just like any 5 year old girl, is in love with the Disney Princesses. Birthstones and Birth flowers: What does it all mean anyway?

We see them just about everywhere!!! From the store to catalogs, on a friend or on television. Someone is sporting there birthstone color and/or birth flower. Most people at least know there birthstone color which is more popular than the flowers. But do you know what they actual mean. Each birth color has its own meaning as well as the flowers. After doing research I finally was able to get it down. I was born in August (LEOS!!! :D) and my birthstone color is Peridot and my birth flower is a Gladiolus.

The Meaning of My Birthstone: 

The Peridot (pronounced as per-i-doh) means protection, safety and security. It has been debated on whether the word was derived from the French word 'peritot' which means unclear or the from the Latin word 'oliva' which refers to the color. It is believed to be the stone that represents "emotional healer."

The Meaning of My Birth Flower:

The Gladiolus (pronounced glad-ee-oh-luh s) was derived from the Latin word 'gladius' meaning sword. You can see that through the way this flower grows. It symbolizes strength and moral integrity.

After understanding all that, it made since that my astrology symbol was that of the Leo portrayed as the lion.

I couldn't find a chart like the one above about the flowers that you could easily follow so I created my own for you guys. Introduce Music to Your Kids

Music is a great way to challenge young children. Many studies show that children you play a musical instrument tend to excel better academically. My favorite instrument are the keyboard, clarinet and violin. I personally don't play the violin but I did play the clarinet and keyboard during my childhood. I wanted to introduce music to my children in a more fun way. And if they wanted to take it to the next level, then by all means we would. I discovered a website during my internship years ago that has just stuck with me over the years. Virtual Keyboard.

You can click here to visit the site. My preschool students and my own children have loved playing this virtual keyboard. With this site you will utilize the  third row of characters on your computer keyboard (A-"). This site allows you to choose nine total instruments. There are many virtual instrument sites out there. Just Google, you'll be amazed at what you find.
